The Sierra is About to Change

The Sierra Is About to Change
You can sense it.
Not quite yet...
But it's coming.
The mornings will eventually get cooler. The afternoons will become a little easier to enjoy. The evenings will invite a sweatshirt instead of a search for the nearest air conditioner.
And then, almost without asking permission, fall will arrive.
This is one of my favorite times of year to explore around here.
The High Sierra begins putting on its annual show of gold and amber. Highway 108 becomes a completely different drive. Trails that felt a little too warm in July suddenly become invitations. And the small Gold Rush towns seem to settle into their own rhythm.
Fall in Tuolumne County isn't about one big attraction.
It's about getting outside again.
Take a Saturday drive up Highway 108.
Find a trail.
Explore a town you've never really explored.
Stop for lunch.
Find a good cup of coffee.
Take the long way home.
And if you're looking for somewhere to start, we've been doing a little of the homework for you.
