This Week, We’re Simply Grateful.

This One Goes Out to The Protectors.
Over the past few days, we've all watched the smoke.
We've checked our phones for updates.
We've hoped the wind wouldn't change.
Like many of you, we've been reminded just how quickly everything we love about our beautiful area could be threatened.
As we've spent the last several months exploring this region—writing destination guides, meeting business owners, hiking trails, discovering history, and sharing the places that make the Sierra so special—we've found a renewed appreciation for what we have here.
It's more than beautiful scenery or a vacation destination.
It’s our people
Our small towns.
Our forests.
Our lakes.
Our local businesses.
Our history.
Our communities.
And it's all worth protecting.
This week, we simply want to say thank you.
Thank you to CAL FIRE, the Sonora Fire Department, Tuolumne County Fire Department, the dedicated hand crews, air attack teams, heavy equipment operators, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and every person working behind the scenes.
Your long hours, quick decisions, and willingness to run toward danger protect so much. You protect the places where memories are made, traditions are carried on, and communities call home.
You are the reason so many of us get to continue enjoying this remarkable corner of California.
We see you.
We appreciate you.
We're grateful.
And proud of you.
Until next Thursday,
Jerad
